1. Is a virtual Windows Server 2022 on VMWare ESX AND Microsoft Hyper-V supported for the ema floating license service?
Tested and secured on Windows Servers up to 2019, but should work with any Windows Server with .NET Framework >=4.5 <=4.81.

2. Is moving the virtual host supported without reissuing the license?
No.

3. Is antivirus from Trend Micro supported? Are exceptions necessary?
It is supported. Whether exceptions need to be set may depend on the configuration of Trend Micro itself.

4. Is regular patching of software and hardware components supported?
Software patches should be possible without any problems. In the case of hardware, the network interface may be problematic.

5. Is the use of the Windows firewall supported?
You need to enable two ports there, as with any other firewall.

6. Which ports/protocols must be enabled on the server?
According to the manual: 10025, 10026 (this only if license management is to take place via the network), TCP.

7. What are the server requirements? (RAM, CPU, hard disk, Java, .net,...)
512 MB RAM, hard disk should have 10 GB free (log data set to error, otherwise significantly more required), DNS (required for server and clients).

8. Can the server be a member of an Active Directory domain?
Yes.

9. Which software components will be installed? Who is the manufacturer of the software?
We (imk) are the manufacturer and only install our own components (license service is currently without third-party libraries).

10. How often can software updates be expected?
Regularly 0-1x per year - in the event of major errors as required.

11. Is it supported to use the server for other purposes - or could the license server be installed on an existing server?
Yes, as long as enough resources remain for the operation of the service, the service can be operated alongside other services.

12. Can the software be uninstalled if necessary?
Yes.

13. Which other server components are required (database, web server, ...)?
None, except .NET Framework 4.5

14. Is the transmission of data encrypted?
The communication between client and server is encrypted, as is the license DB (file) on the hard disk.

15. How are the licenses administered?
The service includes management software (separate installation package).
